1 Month of Marriage

Time has just gone by so fast!!!! Justin and I have been married for 1 month and I have loved every single second of it!!! It's nice have someone who is always there, and one who loves to cook ;), I am spoiled with a husband who loves to cook, so this week I decided I would be the one who cooks. So far so good. I was lucky that I had a mother and father who both enjoyed cooking, but I think I take after my mother and LOVE the SWEET stuff and enjoy baking more than cooking. Chocolate chip cookies are the best in my oppinion. And then I have Justin who is the cook, and he is good. I gained 10 pounds over the 2 months of dating!!! Life is great right now and I love the married life.

My sister-in-law had a meeting for work so Koula was with me, I should have been writing a paper but instead I gave her bagels and some chocolate milk. She never really gets sugar so she was a little hyper, the rest is a result of my procrastination and her sugar high.

Best Friend's Wedding

Labor Day Weekend With the Fam

My nephew got baptized over Labor Day weekend and my whole family got together. These are just a few of the pictures that we got. My 3 brothers and brother in law all decided to sign up to do pig wrestling on saturday night. It was all they could talk about when they got here. They were seriously planning it all out; how to grab the pig, where to run, what to do when you got ahold of the pig. The only rules were you have 60 seconds and if you hurt the pig you owe $300, that was it. They were a little nervous but got the pig into the barrel in 13.19 seconds. The fastest time! They took first and talked about their victory all weekend! this was the best shot of their victory, their faces say it all!

We tried to get a decent family picture, if you know my family it never happens! I (and some others) thought this was the funny face one, but as you can tell not everyone is making a funny face. But this picture is one of the better pictures!

The home team, Kersa, won. This is them getting their cup. Then they chanted and ran out of the stadium and down the street stopping traffic and wanting you to put money in their cup.

While we were in Kersa they had their championship soccer game and I think about 2000 people showed up. Their were people everywhere, this is one of the kids who had climbed a tree to watch the game. He had an amazing view of the whole field!

This little girl was effected by a flood in the town we stayed in. We went and handed out clothes to the little kids.

This little girl was effected as well, she brought her little siblings along with her.

This was a lady who was nursing while waiting to get clothes for the rest of her family, this is one of my favorite pictures.

This kid had a soccer injury about 4 years ago and never took care of it and it got infected and he now had gangrene .

This lady had a seizure and fell into her cooking fire about a week before we got there. She came to the clinic and they told her family to take her to the hospital, but they didn't; they waited the week until the doctors came on the expedition with us.

This is just a random girl from the village, i just thought she was very pretty.

This is just an old lady from the village, she just looks like she has lived through a lot and has a ton of stories to tell.

Just a random little boy who was following his older brother with their cattle.

This boy (the white one) is 22 and is living in Addis and is starting a home for boys to keep them off the streets. He's really a nice guy and the boys just love him.

Well today I leave for Africa!!!! 13 days of serving in a village and taking pictures, just about my dream come true, and who knows hopefully this will be the start of traveling around the world taking pictures. Just be expecting lots of pictures when i get back!!!

Festival of Colors 2009

There is a Hindu temple down the road from my house and every year to welcome spring, the have a festival of colors. You buy colored chalk and then they light a bonfire and you throw the chalk all around and you end up with it all over you. I look forward to this every year!

So i am really bad a this whole blogging thing, i find it rather odd actually, but my photography teacher told me i need to creat a bolg and keep it up, post my pictures and stuff on it, all that fun jazz. So what it all comes down to is there won't be much writing on the blog any more, just pictures. So it your interested in my life and what's going on, well you may not find it here. So i am not good at this whole blog thing, so that is my goal, to actually become good at this and keep up on it all. So life has been crazy lately, a lot has gone on. I have moved home with my mom in Utah, so far so good. We finally got a little snow today, hopefully we will get more by Christmas. I came yo Utah expecting a white christmas every year and this year I'm starting to wonder if it really is going to happen! I'm sure everyone will be pleased to know that I am now officially off the market! It's taken three years and it's finally happened. He's a great guy that my mom and family out here in Utah love him. He's from Freemont, Ca. Yes that's right it's a Cali boy. The Utah guys just weren't making it, but i have made some of the most wonderful girl friends out here. Shocking for me i know, the girl who was always surrounded by guy friends my whole life, now has a ton of girl friends. I was living with Three amazing girls who have become my best friends, then there are the ones i just met and love to death.

I have found a new love of music, i really enjoy mellow stuff and country, one day i will get my playlist to work on here and you will fall in love with it as well, i promise!!!!!!!!! I went to a concert at the Venue in SLC (Salt Lake City) of two amazing artist, Joshua Radin and Missy Higgins. I got to meet Josh and took a picture with him, he may not be a big star now, but one day that picture will be worth a ton!!!! Okay not really but i can dream. Well lets see how long it will take me to write the next entry, hopefully not too long, and maybe I can get a friend to show me how to work this thing!!!!!
